REED McCALLISTER

Chicago native Reed McCallister, has had an interest in music from a very young age with his first rock, musical influences being KISS and Judas Priest. It wasn't long however, before he discovered the bluesy heaviness of Black Sabbath. By age 14 and after  playing for about six years, Reed  started hooking up with other players, many of whom were already music veterans. These opportunities allowed him to play in several projects and enabled him to bring his skills up to a much higher level.

His professionalism garnered him the respect of Tombstone/Communiqué records of London some years later. This led to Reed being signed to a contract and proceeded to  record his material for the label. The end result was an album titled Dementia, which actually did quite well, selling out its initial run of 20,000 copies worldwide. He made it to # 1 on the metal charts in Poland, only to have that success overshadowed by the bankruptcy of the label due to the lack of revenue generated by other bands and the label not being able to stay afloat.
Following that situation and while in search of new horizons and opportunities, Reed headed back to the Chicago area. Soon thereafter, he started working with top, pro-caliber musicians and was able to hit it big in Chicago opening for bands such as Deicide, Morta Skuld, Overkill, Machine Head, Forbidden, and many other bands of that era.

After a near fatal accident, Reed went on to do a lead guitar stint for the death metal band MORTA SKULD, before leaving to form his own band MINDSET ZERO. Another band formed by Reed and named ARMY OF SOULS quickly followed.

Currently Reed is writing for several music libraries, writing for other emerging artists, recording jingles for film/TV/Video, and producing other artists, in addition to his own projects as frontman/guitarist.
